since the day cloud had found out you were pregnant, he had no choice but to melo down on the adventures.

of course, it bummed him out yes, but what made him look past that difficulty was you carrying a little human being inside you that was his.

and with each month he’d get happier and happier and happier despite your mood swings and odd cravings in the middle of the night. such as right now.

“cloud…” you whispered as you shook your mate, him not waking up. “cloud!!” you shouted, this time giving him a good punch and waking him up quickly.

“what- huh?” he mumbled as he sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. “the baby is hungry..” you said with a soft smile as if you didn’t nearly knock the wind out of him.

“is that so? what does it want this time?” cloud asked with a smile as he glanced at your belly, you were already nearing the end of your second trimester.

“mmmm chocolate, chip, and peanuts. oh and pickles.” you said making cloud nod his head. and so here you two were at the supermarket getting what you wanted, you happily waddling alongside him as if you were a penguin.

“is there anything else our baby wants?” cloud asked and you looked to the side to think for a bit. “mustard on spaghetti.” now that was a new one, but of course, cloud did everything his mate wanted and got whatever he needed as well as what the baby needed.

when the two of you got home you happily ate, your body relaxed till you felt a small bit of pressure on a certain part of your stomach making you stop eating.

“what’s wrong?” cloud asked, worry laced in his voice since you looked concerned but also surprised. motioning him over you grabbed his hand and placed it on your stomach where he could feel the baby do a singular strong kick.

it took cloud a while to process what had happened but when he did my god was he happy, his hands moving all around your belly as his eyes practically lit up with each kick or little punch.

“they’re so active in there just like you.” you giggled and ruffled his hair when he placed his head on your stomach softly.

since that day the baby has done nothing but kick and god was it getting annoying and tiring. seeing as how you were barely able to sleep at night made cloud feel sympathetic towards you.

“please little one let your papa sleep..” you sighed and rubbed your stomach softly, the baby kicking a few times or moving in protest. cloud sat up and stared down at your stomach, folding his arms.

“you want your papa to be happy right? if so let him get some sleep and in the morning you can play all you want ok?” cloud said softly and after a couple, of more kicks, punches, and small movements the baby had stopped making you sigh relieved.

“you’re welcome.” cloud smiles and kisses your lips as you hummed a thank you already starting to fall asleep.

neither of you could wait for this baby to be born, especially since you were the one carrying it, and over time it was just getting heavy and made you feel tired all the time.

I've never been able to get over stories where the abused becomes the villain. True of any media that has this trope, really, but especially true of Sephiroth. He makes my heart hurt.

Created to be nothing but a weapon, abused and manipulated and experimented on from childhood. Sent to go fight Shinra's wars for them, desensitized to killing from a young age, but still managing to hold onto his kindness somehow. They made him into a legend larger than life for their propaganda, while simultaneously de-humanizing him in the worst ways, isolating Seph to the point where no one around him, not even his closest companions, even realized that he needed support. There's hints that no one around him really knew his background by the things they say - the only one who was aware of the extent of his mistreatment was his abuser. He was a high functioning individual - who would be arrogant enough to assume that The General could need help? Who would dare?

And I don't blame Angeal or Genesis or Zack for not realizing. Along with them simply not knowing there was an issue that needed addressing, Sephiroth probably kept it from them on purpose - whether by choice or necessity or outside influence or self preservation.

Sephiroth just wanted a normal life too. He didn't like having his picture taken, but endured because he had to, and because other people wanted it of him. He didn't really care to compete for the title of hero with Genesis, even though Genesis didn't seem to believe it. He took care of his troops, and we see in that one cut scene where he failed to save a soldier, that he still got upset over stuff like that. All those years of killing and losing his men to Shinra's missions and he hasn't truly become numb to it.

And then nearing the end, after first being told he's a monster by one of his former friends, and then later spending a week in that library not eating or drinking or sleeping, left alone to his devices because who would assume that the most competent general of their time can be in a vulnerable state, and shouldn't be left alone right now?

After learning the "truth" about his origins, and after a lifetime of systematic abuse, no longer believing he's even human anymore. And then the only person offering him a hand in his darkest moments is the one he shouldn't have taken. But at that point - could you blame him? Whether or not the post nibelheim Sephiroth is truly him or just a puppet for Jenova I'm uncertain about, but the end result is that from start to finish - Sephiroth never manages to break free from the whims of those who wanted to use him.

And because he gave into his worse demons - he won't receive a happy ending. He won't be saved. There's no comfort for him, no opportunity to rest and heal and grow. His childhood wish to live a normal life will never come to pass.

Watching Sephiroth's story unfold is like watching someone drown in front of you while surrounded by a crowd of people. And the one drowning doesn't even scream for help because he's been conditioned to believe that the suffocation is normal.

I will NEVER get over him. It doesn't excuse what he did after Nibelheim, I'm aware of that, but I can't help but remember that people only ever had praise for him while he was burning villages down in Wutai on Shinra's behalf.

It doesn't excuse his actions. But I will NEVER be able to forget all the ways the world failed him first.

Hey. Omegaverse AU where the rural peasant village is exclusively alphas and betas because omegas are a sort of monstrosity of the gods and nature with siren-call scents and long fangs perfect for ensnaring an alpha to ensure they can’t run away before the knot takes.

The rut cycle isn’t really A Thing in its full capacity either because of herbal medicine/magic/lack of omega pheromones BUT once every generation an alpha is chosen as a sacrifice to the omega of the woods outside their village as a peace agreement so the omega can sire the next generation of omegas without needing to raid the village.

The alpha, who has never entered a rut, who only knows of omegas as near-mythic beasts ready to eat an alpha alive as soon as the knot deflates. The alpha getting hit by their first encounter of an omega in heat’s scent and it immediately triggering their first rut.

The omega, who has been raised by the previous generation’s, who has known their entire lives their sole purpose is to mate and breed, is ready to kill this alpha as soon as its served its purpose, but their heart breaks watching this poor puppy fall to their knees in pain, knot already threatening to swell as they pant at the air like they’re trying to drink the omega’s scent, but it only makes the feelings of rut worse as they start to tear off their clothes and beg for the omega to appear from the shadows and have mercy upon them.

The omega descends, not like a black widow as they intended, but a source of comfort— promising they’ll make the pain go away, they’ll take care of the poor alpha, brushing away their tears and pushing them on their back so they can sink down on their lap.

They mate — of course they do, that’s the whole point of the treaty — but the omega doesn’t hate the ordeal by the end of it. Their alpha is sweet, and only touches them after permission is given, and it’s very clear from their scent they would never hurt the omega. They will be a good mate, the omega decides. And if that ever changes, they’ll be a good meal. Reblog, you agree

“maybe use one of her favorite toys to distract her? feed her maybe?” cloud suggested making you give him a look. “i’ve tried everything to get her off me but she just clings like a koala for dear life.” you sighed and gently patted your baby's back while rocking her.

“her clinging onto you shows she loves her papa very much.” cloud said with a soft smile making you roll your eyes.

“i know she loves me but, making some demonic sounds when i try to pry her off when she’s only a year old is concerning.” you mumbled and looked down at your baby who looked back at you and giggled before gently tapping your face. a little love tap some may call it. “awww.” cloud cooed as he took a quick picture.

“keepin that for memories if she ever becomes rebellious like her papa in his teen years!” cloud laughed making you nearly kick him in the side.
